Department of Energy Invests in Blockchain Platform
Washington D.C. — The US Department of Energy revealed yesterday that it had issued a grant of $1.05 million to companies to create an energy transaction platform powered by the blockchain. This represents another step in bringing blockchain to municipal and enterprise-level integration. In January the Department of Energy $4.8 million to better secure data in monitoring fossil fuel reserves. Data integrity and transparency for energy production may be the largest government-sponsored sector in the near future.
